St. Marcus Lutheran School serves more than 900 K3 through 8th grade students on two campuses in Milwaukee’s central city – an all-time high for the school founded in 1872. St. Marcus’ vision is to be the best, urban Christian school in America. For starters, they believe there is no excuse for failure and every student who enters the school can and will earn the right to post-secondary education. This philosophy pervades the culture in the form of practical approaches to education; covenants signed by teachers, parents and children; and support provided for student mind, body and spiritual health.

Since Park Bank started working with St. Marcus in 2001, they have expanded at their original site on Palmer Street, adding additional classrooms and a gymnasium, and expanded an existing facility to serve additional students just north of the main campus. The bank has supported them each step of the way, playing a role in each capital undertaking. The Park Bank Foundation participates in each Gala, the annual fundraising event, which provides an inspiring opportunity for donors and community supporters to experience the positive impact St. Marcus is making on students and family in the face of adversity. As the St. Marcus team make plans for their next steps forward, Park Bank is proud to support this strong community leader.

Henry Tyson, St. Marcus

“We couldn’t be serving as many kids as we are without a bank that understands who we are and is committed to us and our growth. We have a great working relationship with Park Bank. They always have found a way to say ‘yes’ and that pretty much summarizes our experience.”
